Last leg of Operation Ganga has begun; Hardeep Puri

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Sunday said that close to 6,200 students have been evacuated from Ukraine till today including the 889 students who will be landing in India on Sunday. He further said that efforts are underway to evacuate Indian students from Sumy's Ukraine and arrangements are being made. Speaking on the matter, the Union Minister said, "I think after the 5 flights today the figure will be close to 6,200 but you can never be absolutely precise because some people who came to Hungary registered others we have to issue an advisory that last flight is going out.

Ukraine Neo-nazis using civilians as human shields- Putin

Amid heavy fighting with Ukrainian forces, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said that nationalist "neo-Nazis" units of Ukraine are preventing foreigners, including Indians from leaving the war zone and are using them as human shields. In a video address, Putin on Thursday said, "The fact that we are fighting neo-Nazis is proved by how the hostilities are going, nationalist neo-Nazi's units are using foreign mercenaries from the Middle East. Also, they use civilians as human shields, hiding behind their backs and we have facts, pictures of how they deploy heavy weapons in residential areas."

Scindia meets students in Bucharest, ensured quick departure: Russia Ukraine Crisis

On Wednesday, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia reached Bucharest to oversee the evacuation of students strangled in the war-torn areas of Ukraine, under a special envoy appointed by the Government of India. Scindia met students at Bucharest airport waiting to be evacuated and assured them that they will be safely evacuated to their homeland.

CM Bhupendra Patel welcomes 100 Indian students from Ukraine.

Early morning today, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel welcomed 100 Indian students who were strangled in war tone area in Ukraine. Two special buses were arranged from Mumbai/Delhi to Gujarat for these students. The students arrived in India after being evacuated by a special flight from Bucharest to Romania.
