Novak Djokovic looking to defend the french title

Only after the French government relaxed vaccine passport regulations, Novak Djokovic’s chances of competing in the French Open in May have risen.

From March 14, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced that vaccine passports will no longer be required to enter venues.

After being deported from Australia in January, Djokovic defended his right to refuse the coronavirus vaccine in February.

In the United States, vaccination is still required play.

As a result, Djokovic, who lost the men’s world number one status to Daniil Medvedev on Monday, is scheduled to miss the Masters Series events in Indian Wells and Miami in March.

Djokovic’s next tournament might be the Monte Carlo Masters in April after France’s Castex declared “the conditions are met” to “halt the vaccination permit wherever it applies.”

The 34-year-old Serb was eliminated in the quarterfinals of his first tournament of the year, in which he competed in Dubai at the end of February.

If Djokovic competes in the French Open, which begins on May 22, he will be the defending champion.
