Rohit wins toss and elects to bat in India face-off with Sri Lanka in Virat Kohli’s 100th test match

Virat Kohli will play his 100th Test match, and he is expected to be the centre of attention for the next five days.

When Virat Kohli walks out on the pitch against Sri Lanka in Mohali, he will become the 12th Indian player to play 100 Tests. Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, and Virender Sehwag are among a select group of Indian batsmen who have accomplished the feat.

Meanwhile, the Indian team will undergo some significant adjustments.

KL Rahul has been ruled out due to injury, while Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have been withdrawn from the side. Mayank Agarwal, Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill can all play in the starting XI if three key players are unavailable.

Coming to Sri Lanka, the team will include Niroshan Dickwella, who is making a comeback after serving a one-year suspension. Kusal Mendis’ fitness has been questioned, and he is unlikely to play in the first Test. Wanindu Hasaranga will also miss the Test series after missing the first two T2OI games
