Doha [Qatar]: After registering a shocking victory over Germany, Japan coach Hajime Moriyasu said that the match against four-times champions was tough and they had to hang tough until the final whistle.
Japan made a scintillating comeback to create a massive upset against Germany, defeating the four-time champions 2-1 in the group E match of the FIFA World Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium on Wednesday. “We wanted to start playing aggressively, we wanted to dominate the game. But Germany are very strong so we needed to defend persistently and take our chances,” Japan coach Hajime Moriyasu was quoted as saying by Skysports.
“At the end they came at us with the full power, in the past maybe we would have lost but the players have been playing in Germany and Europe they’ve learned so much from that, so we held on. United as one, we needed to hang tough until the final whistle went and we were able to grasp our opportunity,” he added.
