    PM Modi speaks to Ukraine’s Zelensky, seeks support in evacuation of Indians from Sumy

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, and sought continued support from his government for the evacuation of Indian nationals from Sumy. The Prime Minister also appreciated the continuing direct dialogue between Ukraine and Russia, Government of India sources informed. In a phone call that lasted for about 35 minutes, PM Modi thanked President Zelensky for the help extended by the Government of Ukraine in the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine.

    Ashwin goes past Kapil Dev, becomes India’s second-highest wicket-taker in Tests

    Ravichandran Ashwin on Sunday went past Kapil Dev's tally of 434 Test wickets to become India's second-highest wicket-taker in the longest format of the game. Ashwin achieved the feat on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka here in Mohali. Charith Asalanka became Ashwin's 435th Test scalp. Earlier on Day 3, Ashwin had equalled Kapil Dev's tally. Anil Kumble is India's highest wicket-taker in Tests with 619 scalps.

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday attended the 53rd Raising Day ceremony of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Ghaziabad's Indirapuram. The Union Home Minister also inspected the parade of the force here.     A special flight carrying 183 Indian citizens stranded in Ukraine reached Delhi on Sunday. The special flight had departed from Hungary's capital Budapest on Saturday under Operation Ganga. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav received the passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport. He also interacted with the students. Tensions have escalated following Russia's military action against Ukraine. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on the Ukraine crisis on Saturday. The meeting was attended by Union Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla and other top officials.

    Bharat Dynamics pays interim dividend of over Rs 100 crore to government

    Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has paid an interim dividend of Rs 7.30 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the financial year 2021-22 amounting to Rs 133.7953 crore, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday. The interim dividend declared by the company works out to 73 per cent of the paid-up share capital of Rs 183.28 crore. Commodore Siddharth Mishra (Retd), Chairman and Managing Director, BDL, presented the cheque for Rs 100.24 crore, being the interim dividend pertaining to the Government of India shareholding in BDL, to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the national capital on Thursday.
