Janhvi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra Offer Prayers At Mahakaleshwar Temple

Today, actors Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra traveled to the sacred Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to pray for good luck before their new movie, Param Sundari, comes out in theaters in a few days. People are already putting up photographs and videos of the couple’s spiritual trip on social media.

As they sat on the floor of the temple for the prayer service, Janhvi wore a customary orange saree and Sidharth wore a basic off-white kurta and sleeper. The stars, who are presently on a long promotional tour for the movie, also met with members of the temple committee, where they were given blessings and garlands.

There is a lot of talk about how the movie represents South Indian culture, and their trip to the temple is happening at the same time. Some people, especially those from Kerala, have said that the teaser for Param Sundari, a love story that bridges cultures, uses too many clichés and doesn’t represent true Malayali life.

Janhvi Kapoor recently addressed about the criticism and remarked that her character’s dual heritage—half Tamilian and half Malayali—explains why she portrays the role differently in different cultures. But the controversy has arisen since some people allege that the people who made the movie have started mailing copyright strikes to people who have written unfavorable reviews.

Tushar Jalota is in charge of Param Sundari. This is the first time Janhvi and Sidharth have worked together. The movie will be in theaters on August 29.
