The long-awaited reunion of Bollywood’s famous couple, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, is now officially happening. The two stars have started filming Priyadarshan’s new movie, Haiwaan. Akshay’s first glimpse as the bad guy has already caused a stir online.
In the leaked first glimpse, Akshay has a buzz cut, a rough beard, and a scary look on his face, which hints at the scary villain he would play. Saif Ali Khan will play the main character, who is blind. This part was first played by Malayalam actor Mohanlal.
The movie is a Hindi version of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam smash Oppam. It is the first time Akshay and Saif have been on screen together in 17 years. The last time they worked together was on the movie Tashan in 2008. Akshay posted a video on social media on the first day of filming and said, “Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”
Priyadarshan, the film’s director, said that the main tale comes from Oppam, but the screenplay and speech have been modified a lot to make it more appealing to Hindi speakers. The filmmaker also said something that shocked everyone: Mohanlal will have a special cameo in the movie. Priyadarshan also praised Akshay highly, calling him “Bollywood’s Mohanlal” since they got along so well at work.
