Ajit Pawar Calls India-Pak Match Non-Issue, Asks Oppn To Raise Important Issues

Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, told the Opposition that they are talking about “non-issues” like the India-Pakistan cricket match instead of more significant matters like crop losses and traffic bottlenecks. He remarked this in response to Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut’s criticism of the Union government’s choice to hold the match in the Asia Cup, especially following a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Pawar told reporters that the Opposition should focus on more significant issues that are affecting the state, even though individuals have various viewpoints on the issue. “Today, there are some big issues, like heavy rain, crop damage, and traffic jams. But the members of the Opposition chose to talk about things that didn’t matter, like the India-Pakistan match,” he said.

Pawar further said that the Opposition’s constant charges of “vote theft” were not true. He claimed that the Opposition is trying to “set a fake narrative” and pointed out that the persons who first offered statistics to back up the claims later said that the information was wrong. He then said, “I think you should accept your loss.”
