East Midnapore (West Bengal) [India]: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced a salary hike for doctors in the state, a move that has sparked controversy with BJP leader Dilip Ghosh accusing her of “bribing” doctors to prevent further agitation.

Salary Hike Details
📈 Interns, house staff, and postgraduate trainees will receive a ₹10,000 increase.
📈 Senior resident doctors across all levels will see their salaries rise by ₹15,000:
✔️ Diploma-holding senior residents: ₹80,000 (from ₹65,000)
✔️ Postgraduate senior residents: ₹85,000 (from ₹70,000)
✔️ Postdoctorate senior doctors: ₹1,00,000 (from ₹75,000)

CM Banerjee’s Vision for Healthcare
📌 The Chief Minister defended her decision, stating that she personally oversees the Health Ministry to ensure efficient management.
📌 She highlighted government hospital initiatives, including:

🔹 Expanded hospital infrastructure
