A Day After Ten Ministers Loyal To Former CM BS Yeddyurappa Resigned Demanding Change In Leadership In Karnataka, The Dissidents Said The Former CM Was Not The Reason For Their Rebellion And Should Not Be Blamed For Their Action.
Maintaining That They Would Withdraw Their Resignation, Public Works Minister C M Udasi Said That Their Main Contention Was With CM D V Sadananda Gowda. He Said That There Was Trust Deficient And Lack Of Coordinaton In Both Factions. Reiterating That Gowda Was Being Influenced By JD(S), He Questioned Whether The CM Belonged To BJP Or The Opposition JD(S).
"Gowda Has Not Only Failed To Take The Entire Cabinet Into Confidence, He Also Let Down BJP MLAs, Thereby Hampering Developmental Works," He Said. He Rued That CM Had Not Consulted Him With Regard To Shiradi Ghat Road Work Project, Connecting Hassan And Coastal Parts Of The State, Which Has Been Taken Up On Public Private Partnership Model. He Also Said That There Was Major Discrimination In The Party.
While Gowda Had Taken The Trouble To Clear The Air With Law Minister S Suresh Kumar After He Was Levelled With Allegations Recently, The CM Had Not Done Same With Excise Minister M P Renukacharya, Who Has Been Accused Of Seeking Favours From Liquor Merchants. Udasi Said That It Was Unfortunate That Gowda Had Relied On JD(S) Party Worker's Complaint Before Ordering An Inquiry Against Renukachaya.
Another Dissident Leader Basavaraj Bommai Said The Question Of Taking Back Resignation Does Not Arise And Hoped That BJP Trouble Shooter Dharmendra Pradhan Would Give Them An Opportunity To Explain Their Version. Pradhan, Who Arrived In The City, Was Seen Closeted With BJP State President K S Eshwarappa, Home Minister R Ashoka And Organizing Secretary Santosh All Afternoon.
Trying To Diffuse The Crisis, Eshwarappa Met Gowda On Saturday Morning And Held Discussions With Hi. He Maintained That Neither The CM Will Be Changed Nor The Resignation Of The 10 Ministers Will Be Accepted. "I Am Confident That Crisis Will Be Resolved Soon," He Said.
Admitting That He Discussed The Resignation Issue With Governor H R Bhardwaj When He Called Upon Him This Morning, Gowda Said That He Was In Possession Of Resignation Letters But He Was Yet To Take Call On It. Trying To Assert His Authority That He Would Continue In The Post, He Said The Legislature Session Would Be Convened On July 16.
Coming To His Aid, Labour Minister BN Bachhe Gowda Lashed Out At Yeddyurappa Accusing Him Of Causing Political Instability In The State.
