Houses are kept cleanand decorated with flowers. Rangoli/ Muggulu are laid on then floors of inner court yards of the houses. Farmers give gifts to their workers. Cattle are bathed and are decorated with clothes. This year in 2012 pongal/ Sankranti is celebrated on 14th to 17th January 2012. Farmers prepare sweets and distribute them among the farm labor. People wear new clothes on this festive occasion. Newly wed bride groom visit their in laws place for this festive season. Climate will be good during this festival. People enjoy playing cards and watching rooster fight for pongal 2012. In some areas bullock fight is also seen. People visit their friends and relatives during Sankranti pongal 2012.
