Making an effort to learn from Hazare, the British government has specially invited him to attend their all-party meeting to be held in July. Anna Hazare gladly accepted the invitation and will be present in Britain from July 16-18 for the meeting.
Talking to Dainik Jagran on Saturday, Anna’s close aide Suresh Pathare said, “Anna will reach Britain on July 15 to attend the British all-party meeting. The Labour Party of the opposition has organized a special programme in his honour.”
According to Pathare, several organizations run by people of Indian origin have sent invitations to Anna. He may participate in the meetings and gatherings organized by the people of Indian origin. People of the Indian community residing in Singapore, Canada and US have also sent invitations to Anna Hazare. However, no other trip has been confirmed yet.
The anti-corruption movement waged by Anna Hazare has gained enormous support from the Indian community living abroad. It is to be noted, the British Parliament is also planning to honour Myanmar’s pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. She is all set to address the joint sitting of the British Parliament next week.
